Two of the country's poshest trains run through the royal state of Rajasthan.
These are Palace on Wheels and Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.

1. Palace on Wheels: The world famous Palace on Wheels was
India's first luxury train which started way back in January 1982. It was a
joint venture between Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian
Railways which was solely meant to promote tourism within the state.
The train offers a heart-rending trip and takes one on a
journey through the bygone era of erstwhile kings. Palace on Wheels has 14
uber-luxurious coaches bedecked with ornaments and adornments reflecting the
ambiance preferred by the Maharajas.
Royal Journey: This train offers 8 days and 7 nights journey
covering some of the finest destinations in North-Western India. Each of the
carefully chosen destinations in the journey unfolds a mysterious chapter to
the history and presents a myriad of experiences to its regal guests.
Destinations:
Day 1: The journey begins in New Delhi, the capital of India
from Safdarjung Railway Station.
Day 2: The pink city of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan
Day 3: Chittorgarh/Sawai Madhopur
Day 4: Udaipur, the city of lakes
Day 5: The golden city of Jaisalmer
Day 6: Jodhpur, the blue city
Day 8: New Delhi
Essentially, it's an upgraded version of Palace on Wheels
with more spacious cabins and enhanced luxury. The train has 14 luxury coaches
where 13 of them have 3 deluxe saloons and last one 2. Each of the saloons has
a distinct theme and each of the coaches are named after prominent spots in
Rajasthan.
Royal Journey: The train offers a 7-day tour which begins
and ends at New Delhi. And while some of the destinations are same as above, a
few changes have been made to the itinerary for a distinct flavour.

Day 2: Jodhpur
Day 3: Udaipur and Chittorgarh
Day 4: Madhopur and Jaipur
Day 5: Khajuraho
Day 6: Varanasi
Day 7: Agra
Day 8: New Delhi
